Anticipation…..

From what is now her fourth Twitter account Gennette tweets:

There is of course a chance this is not the real Gennette. But for now I am willing to follow along and see where it leads. What I do know is that she is following four people only. And one of them is someone who I know for a fact is real close with Gennette — Gthe7thLetter.

Edit: Actually the two girls may be first cousins.

I know this because I have been following the Weinergate story since it broke. (See my ‘previously’ link below) Basically I am giving her the benefit of the doubt, for now. I will leave it up to others to make their own decision. Which is as it should be.

Stay tuned folks the fun is just beginning…

This story as they say, is developing, will update ASAP.

Update:

I’m not sure if she is planning on tweeting info out in bits and drabs via Twitter or what, but here is her following tweet.

@GennetteC

There’s no way for you people to know this but I would NEVER allow anyone to write something for me.

Well at least I was correct in that the account I attributed to the real Gennette was indeed really her.

It’s up on NY Daily News… for all of you bloodsuckers:)

The statement:

Statement from Gennette Cordova, student who was sent lewd Twitter photo from Rep. Weiner’s account

Friday evening I logged onto Twitter to find that I had about a dozen new mentions in less than an hour, which is a rare occurrence. When I checked one of the posts that I had been tagged in I saw that it was a picture that had supposedly been tweeted to me by Congressman Anthony Weiner.

The account that these tweets were sent from was familiar to me; this person had harassed me many times after the Congressman followed me on Twitter a month or so ago. Since I had dealt with this person and his cohorts before I assumed that the tweet and the picture were their latest attempts at defaming the Congressman and harassing his supporters.

Annoyed, I responded with something along the lines of “are you f***ing kidding me?” and “I’ve never seen this. You people are sick.” I blocked their accounts, made my page private, and let the matter drop, expecting them to eventually do the same.

Within about an hour, however, I realized that I had grossly underestimated the severity of the situation that I had somehow become a part of.

The last 36 hours have been the most confusing, anxiety-ridden hours of my life. I’ve watched in sheer disbelief as my name, age, location, links to any social networking site I’ve ever used, my old phone numbers and pictures have been passed along from stranger to stranger.

My friends have received phone calls from people claiming to be old friends of mine, attempting to obtain my contact information. My siblings have received tweets that are similar in nature. I began taking steps, though not quickly enough, to remove as much personal information from the Internet as possible.

Not because I “was exposed as Weiner’s mistress” or because I “was responsible for the hack,” as Gawker has suggested. I removed my information because I, believe it or not, do not enjoy being harassed or being the reason that my loved ones are targets of harassment.

I have seen myself labeled as the “Femme Fatale of Weinergate,”  “Anthony Weiner’s 21-year-old coed mistress” and “the self-proclaimed girlfriend of Anthony Weiner.”

All of this is so outlandish that I don’t know whether to be pissed off or amused, quite frankly. This is the reality of sharing information online in the 21st century. Things that I never imagined people would care about are now being plastered all over blog sites, including pictures of me from when I was 17 and tweets that have been taken completely out of context. I tweeted once (it was reported that I said it twice) that “I wonder what my boyfriend @RepWeiner is up to.”

I am a 21-year-old college student from Seattle. I have never met Congressman Weiner, though I am a fan. I go to school in Bellingham where I spend all of my time; I’ve never been to New York or to DC. The point I am trying to make is that, contrary to the impression that I apparently gave from my tweet, I am not his girlfriend. Nor am I the wife, girlfriend or mistress of Barack Obama, Ray Allen or Cristiano Ronaldo, despite the fact that I have made similar assertions about them via Twitter.

There have never been any inappropriate exchanges between Anthony Weiner and myself, including the tweet/picture in question, which had apparently been deleted before it reached me. I cannot answer the questions that I do not have the answers to. I am not sure whether or not this letter will alleviate any future harassment. I also do not have a clear understanding as to how or why exactly I am involved in this fiasco. I do know that my life has been seriously impacted by speculation and faulty allegations. My reputation has been called into question by those who lack the character to report the facts.

(I bolded my fav bits)

Whatever. So you say. Play with fire…much? Shoot the messenger much? Heck, hit the talk show circuit, cut a book deal. May as well make the most out of your distress. /snark

A nod to yours truly lol. I guess dramatic effect is lost on the young journo student.

I have seen myself labeled as the “Femme Fatale of Weinergate,”

The college co-ed is making it all about her. She is the connection to Weiner but not the  star –a bit player.  It is Weiner who I want to see go down (if guilty and lying to cover his tracks). She  being young and naive, may of gotten in over her head. He may of taken a flash of attention and ran to far with it. Who knows…

I may add more later. I need some down time. It has been a wild ride. Been on this every waking hour since it broke.

Update: No rest for the weary. A cog in the weinergate cover up? wheel?

BREAKING — Congressman Anthony Weiner x-rated photo’s internet CACHE files recovered

Update 2: NY Post Weiner goes to great lengths Under siege – but gal blames stalker

I have first hand knowledge of the so called “stalker” or as Gennette put it:

Is willing to cooperate with the authorities –fully. I’d link but he has temporarily locked his Twitter account. His timeline is visible to me since we both follow one another.

Update 3:

The ever diligent Ace has more.

It is outright BS that fingers have been pointing frantically towards the messenger @patriotusa76.

What about the dirty deed done dirt cheap???

Will an investigation be launched or not?

If the hack claim was a knee jerk defense strategy of a desperate Weiner who freaked when he noticed the dic-pic went public, how could he then file a report? That would be illegal. Poor Weiner is caught between a rock and a hard place. That is unless he was a genuine victim of a hacking. But how does one recover a hacked account in a matter of minutes? Does Weiner have magic beans?

If he lost control of his account, Twitter would have removed the “Verified” (a special distinction for Twitter accounts of public figures, since there are those who create spoof accounts) until they can confirm verification again. Which would of prevented any speculation that Weiner himself had sent the dic-pic, and that the supposed ‘hacker’ had done so instead.

But no, Weiner was twittering away with abandon.

How it went down.

First, he posted three hours before the alleged hack post, and four minutes after. This means he somehow wrested control back from the hackers quickly. How is this possible? That would be quite a feat, either through password guessing or some sort of Twitter security hole. If it happened, why didn’t we hear about how?

Second, if he lost control of the account, standard Twitter practice is to remove the “Verified Account” status until Twitter can confirm the account is back under the control of the named person. Yet, the @RepWeiner account as of this writing is still Verified.

Third, as pointed out the recipient of the photo is somewhere between Seattle and Vancouver, but that evening Weiner posted on Twitter a note about Seattle time. Funny coincidence, that.

Let’s toss aside the above for a moment. If Weiner is a victim of a nefarious hacker — Twitter (OF Course!) has a list of every IP from which Weiner’s account was accessed. Easy peasy, sift through the I.P.’s, locate the hacker arrest him/her. Mystery solved! Case closed!

Update 4:

Weiner claims his account was hacked. Team Weiner brushed off the incident as a “distraction”. The hacking of a congressman’s account is a “distraction”? What?

The RawStory

Weiner and his team have remained mostly silent about the matter. In an email Sunday, Weiner spokesman Dave Arnold told The Associated Press that the Twitter episode was “a distraction” from the congressman’s “important work representing his constituents.”

“Anthony’s accounts were obviously hacked,” Arnold said. “He doesn’t know the person named by the hacker, and we will be consulting on what steps to take next.”

Until Weiner proves the hacking claim, he by all appearances knew her well enough to have shared the dic-pic with her.

An individual named Joe Brooks (on Twitter) is claiming that it might be provable that Rep. Weiner is lying if anybody has viewed the original yfrog underwear pic on his or her computer.

    Excerpts and the link:

“URGENT — Internet Cache files may prove @RepAnthony Weiner is lying, RETWEET!
    post by @JoeBrooks
This is an urgent call to action to anyone who saw the original yfrog image of Congressman Anthony Weiner?s expanding underwear. If you were among the few who were able to view the image on the yfrog page then you might have valuable data on your computer that can definitively prove the photo was taken with Weiner?s Blackberry phone.
The Congressman deleted his entire yfrog account but mysteriously a couple of the photos have survived the purge including these two of President Obama:…

…Notice that for both tweets it lists Twitter for Blackberry as the originating source. We can prove that these photos were taken with a Blackberry because yfrog saves all the meta data on the photos. You can test this out right now on the photos posted above. Open the yfrog page, then right click on the image, choose save as. Then locate that file on your computer, right click on properties, then click on the Details tab. Scroll down and you?ll see that these photos were taken on a BlackBerry 9650

…FireFox users have an easier time when resurrecting images because of the plugin ?CacheViewer.? You can use this plugin on the latest builds of FireFox if you chose the option to ?install anyways.?  Once installed you?ll need to launch it from under the Tools menubar. Then it?s just a matter of browsing through the cache files until you find the urls that look like this:…

“Until Weiner proves the hacking claim”

LOL, how have you written this much about this nonsense and not figured this out yet?

Ok Mr Weiner’s lawyers just left you a message saying they will prove the hacking right after you proved there was ever a tweet.

Quick! Email them a copy of that screenshot. You know, the one off the website that’s known for breaking huge scoops that turn out to be hoaxes. You know, the one that they sourced from an anonymous guy, which shows a twitpic page that is missing the stuff every other twitpic page shows. Yeah, the clearly fake one.

Yeah, now you know why he called his lawyers and not the police. That’s the correct course of action for suing someone for defaming you.

  9. Marty says:

“This is an urgent call to action to anyone who saw the original yfrog image of Congressman Anthony Weiner?s expanding underwear.”

Guy, the yfrog image is fake. The only thing that suggests it is connected to Weiner is his twitter name pasted onto some other pic.
So you’re really just asking for pics of some random guy’s underwear. Best of luck with that.
