The tacit endorsement of Islam by the Toronto school board.

The girls are being segregated during Muslim prayers, that as I have mentioned in the title, are being held in a PUBLIC SCHOOL “mosqueteria”, if you will.

The article that accompanied the photo below, gives as the reason the girls in the back are being segregated from the group is that they are having their periods. But if you notice, [all] of the girls are separated by rows of bleachers from their male classmates. And that menstruating girls are deemed so unclean, that they are not even allowed to participate in the prayers with those of their own gender, is all the more disturbing. Then again, what about Islam is not disturbing?

"The girls sitting at the back during Friday prayers are menstruating and not allowed to sit with everyone else." - John Goddard/Toronto Star

(National Post) –The photo depicts a row of girls sitting in the cafeteria of Valley Park Middle School in Toronto. The row is segregated behind a mass of students who are participating in an Islamic prayer service. The reason the girls in the back are not praying is because -wait for it -they have their periods.

One is tempted to say: Is this the Middle Ages? Have I stumbled into a time warp, where “unclean” women must be prevented from “defiling” other persons? It’s bad enough that the girls at Valley Park have to enter the cafeteria from the back, while the boys enter from the front, but does the entire school have the right to know they are menstruating?
……
In defence of the school’s practices, Toronto District School Board Education (TDSB) director Chris Spence stated that, “As a public school board, we have a responsibility and an obligation to accommodate faith needs.” But those “faith needs” are a matter of debate.
……
According to the liberal-minded Muslim Canadian Congress (MCC), Friday prayers actually are not a compulsory religious requirement for these students. The group also opposes the gender segregation imposed on the children. Indeed, the MCC is contemplating legal action to force the TDSB to respect the Ontario Education Act, which states, “a board shall not permit any person to conduct religious exercises or to provide instruction that includes religious indoctrination in a particular religion or religious belief in a school.”

This regulation respects the 1988 Ontario Court of Appeal ruling in the case of Zylberberg v. Sudbury Board of Education. The court held that the Lord’s Prayer could no longer be spoken in public schools, on the grounds that it discriminated against students from other faiths, or who had no religion at all.

The “Lord’s Prayer” in a public school is an illegal “discriminatory” act, BUT the prayers and instruction of the religion of barbarism, inequality and hate are to be “accommodated”.

“The absurd lengths that leftists will go to, in order to allow Muslims preferential treatment, and immunity from their own (leftists) laws

Bibles are banned BUT the un-holy Quran is not. This mindset gives Muslims special status above the law, thereby creating a quasi-caliphate within the Canadian public school system, ruled by sharia law.

Keep bending over milquetoast leftists, and eventually the choice to stand straight up, will never come your way again…

What is going on here? Have all of you become BLITHERING IDIOTS? This is North America, NOT A MUSLIM COUNTRY! Cut the CRAP and quit letting these people who don’t believe in us and our way of life, go back where they BELONG.

  3. G.Reid says:

This is very ridiculous, we cannot read a Bible or say our Prayers, but they are allowed to, that is a crock of s—. Smarten up School boards of Canada

    • Barry says:

The only reason they can and we can’t is because they do and we don’t. When other faiths show the willingness to exercise their unalienable right to religious expression in the public squire the whole liberal canard will collapse.

This is easy! Insist on allowing the Lord’s Prayer and a Catholic Mass. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. BTW I am running for President. My pledge is to restore GOD to the public discourse. With Patriot Love, Ursula

When I was young in Canada, religious instruction and religious ceremony was only permitted in what was called the “Separate School System”, which for us meant attending Catholic elementary and high school with French Canadian nuns with unintelligible accents at the helm. Their basic operation are funded by the same school tax that fund public schools through the provincial governments, and levied on the entire population.

What you see in the blog defies their rules quite shamelessly in favor of one faith, which is no different than having a state established religion. While Canada has as her titular head of state the British monarch, it does not have an established religion as the UK nominally does.

The action of the Toronto Schools clearly violates the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, section deux, as “negative rights” have been previously defined saying that one particular religious practice funded or aided in a public institution is not acceptable if any other faith cannot anjoy the same right.

I’ve been having some fun here with a petition for muslims who think they should receive special status above all other religions in Canada. http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/letuspray
    I’ve posted this:
Ontario Education Act, “a board shall not permit any person to conduct religious exercises or to provide instruction that includes religious indoctrination in a particular religion or religious belief in a school.”
    And this:
Islam thinking they should be allowed to circumvent the law is WRONG.It would raise islam ABOVE all others. Giving islam special status and others second class status Stealth sharia is REAL. Keep islam prayers OUT of publicly funded schools!

Each fit as a separate comment. You are welcome to use them or make up your own.

Make up a name and email addy, they do not check lol It goes right through instantly. Hahaha

This article shares a variety of perspectives on the ruling to preclude menstruating women from prayer:

    http://www.altmuslimah.com/a/b/mca/4507/

one view is that it’s not misogynist but just a matter of ritual purity … men are also considered ritually impure after ejaculation, for instance — how could that be misogynist?

other views think it is unfair and they find reinterpretations.
